In the above article we learned about the idea of broadcasting content on mobile just like radio or TV without internet , cable and SIM card.

But on the one hand the problem is that the burden on the Internet and mobile networks is increasing , on the other hand , many parts of the world still cannot reach the Internet reliably! Like ships floating in the sea or inaccessible mountains or deserts. Because internet connection is mostly based on cables and cell towers. As a solution , attempts are also being made to provide net connectivity by floating satellites relatively close to the Earth .

For example , what looks like a stool for sitting on the deck of a ship in the image below is actually an antenna that connects to a satellite and provides a net connection in a ship or other inaccessible place!

We have already talked about American technocrat Elon Musk's ' Starlink ' project.

The same project is now working on a project to provide direct-to-cell , i.e. satellite - to-internet connectivity in mobiles as shown below .

Importantly, no modifications to existing smartphones are required to make this possible - simple smartphones can become satellite phones!

The ambitious Starlink project to provide Internet connectivity via satellite across the world is progressing rapidly , but India has been hampered by it.

In the year 2021 , the company started booking this service from the people of India without obtaining the necessary license . Then the company stopped bookings in India due to government orders and had to give refunds to people.

Now there is news that Starlink is likely to be approved in India soon. It is worth noting that in India currently Reliance Jio and OneWeb have been licensed to provide ' Mobile Personal Communication ' services using satellite. Starlink will be the third company to get such a license.
