The clash of different chargers for mobiles is now over, Modi government has taken a big decision
Government of India has demanded to provide two common charging ports for mobile and electronic devices. One of which is the usb type-c port for mobiles, smartphones and tablets and the other is the common port for the electronic devices we can wear.
Consumer Affairs Secretary Rohit Kumar Singh said that stockholders have agreed for USB type c charger and only after that BIS has announced this quality standard. On the other hand, research is going on for a single charging port for wearable electronic devices like watches at the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur. After receiving the results of this, BIS will talk to those stakeholders.
About mandating only two charging ports in the country, Singh said, "We have to comply with the European Union's deadline of 2024. This is because the supply chain of mobile and electronic manufacturers is global. Those who do not sell their products only in India. Stakeholders Also, in the meeting held on November 16, there was a strong consensus on the issue that common charging points should be implemented step-by-step.
USB Type-C is more useful for these reasons.
1. No need for multiple chargers for smart phones from different companies.
2. There is no hassle of straight or reverse cable in this port, cable can be used from both sides.
3. This makes charging very fast and data transfer is also fast.
4. Due to the strong voltage, multiple devices can be charged with a single charger.
5. One port can do 3 functions, phone charging, data transfer and earphone use
6. If the ports of 2 phones are Type C then one phone can charge the other phone as well
Last year in November at the United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Glasgow, Prime Minister Modi announced the concept of LIFE i.e. Lifestyle for the Environment. Since then the government has been continuously trying to reduce e-waste, while the government wants to reduce this waste by 45% by the year 2030. E-waste means those electronic devices that we throw away after using them. Nowadays, every member of every house has more than one gadget due to which e-waste is also increasing. Ear phones, mobile chargers, computers, monitors, mice, keyboards, mobiles, laptops, microchips, TVs - all these devices cause eVest.
The European Union has agreed that all electronic devices will use the same charger by 2024. By 2024, USB Type C will be the common charging point for all mobile phones, tablets and cameras in the European Union. If one such charger is found, then about 11 thousand tons of electronic waste will be reduced.
Currently Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Motorola these companies make type C gadgets. The price of this charger is around 100-150 rupees. This option is available in almost new Android smartphones, while this feature is not available in any Apple gadget, the company is planning a Type C charging port in the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro series.
