The smartphone is likely to have a removable battery again
You may remember that a few years back when our smartphone hangs and won't even force restart, we used to force open the back case of the phone and take out the battery. Put the battery back so the phone starts as usual! After that, smartphone manufacturing companies started offering non-removable battery models. Apple started this trend with its iPhone. There were many reasons for doing so. In particular, the issue of safety was foremost. Although battery technology has changed a lot, the risk of overheating and battery explosion remains. When the battery is not in the phone, it is necessary to cover it with hard plastic to protect it from damage. By doing this, both the weight and size of the phone increase. This started the trend of non-removable batteries in phones.
However, now there is a possibility that the hands of the clock will turn upside down. The European Union has made it mandatory for all smartphones, including Apple, to have removable batteries. This law applies to all types of batteries. The main purpose of the law is to reduce the environmental damage caused by all types of batteries. In the European Parliament, 587 votes were cast in favor of this matter and only 9 votes were against. This new law will come into effect by 2027.
Obviously, if smartphones sold in the European Union were to have removable batteries, phone manufacturing companies would have to redesign the phones and then this would apply to all smartphones sold worldwide.
