WhatsApp company is bringing a major update, with the help of which WhatsApp users will be able to send messages on other apps as well. WhatsApp users can message on apps like Telegram and Signal without any hassle.

WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp's upcoming features, said that WhatsApp is bringing new features. This is version 2.24.6.2. And this update indicates that the upcoming feature is designed to manage third party chats.

Why creating a new feature?

According to media reports, WhatsApp has told the EU regulatory agency Digital Markets Act (DMA) that it is working on chat interoperability to improve user communication, which will also support other apps.

Feature in Android beta version

The messaging app has already announced that it is working on the chat interoperability feature, which is currently in Android beta version 2.24.5.18. The latest 2.24.5.20 beta version released on the Google Play Store reveals that WhatsApp will offer an option called a dedicated chat info screen and it will be for third party chats.

Messages from other apps will appear on the chat info screen

A chat info screen will be available for third party chats. Information about which is available from the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo. This will show only important details. Profile name and photo will not appear. WhatsApp's plan is to use the default photo. This upcoming feature of WhatsApp will have some limitations. Third party apps will not get support for group chat, along with calls etc. Many details about these features are yet to be revealed.
