Abdul Kalam was born on October 15, 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. His father Jainulabdin was the owner of a boat and the imam of a local mosque. His mother Ashiamma was a housewife. His father used to take Hindu pilgrims in his boat to Rameshwaram.
Since childhood, Dr. Abdul Kalam was dreaming of becoming something. However his conditions at the time were not so good. He also used to sit at his elder brother Mustafa Kalam's shop at Rameshwaram railway station after leaving school.
Kalam took on this responsibility when his brother Shamsuddin needed someone who could help him deliver the newspaper to people's homes. When he told his father to go out of Rameshwaram and study, he said that our love is not a bond for you and our needs will not stop you. Your body may be in this place, but not your mind.
Kalam then took admission in 1950 at St. Joseph's College, Trichy to study Intermediate. He then graduated with a degree in physics. He then took admission in Madras Institute of Engineering.
Dr. He got admission on the basis of Kalam's faith and hard work. Began studying but as time passed in college his interest in aircraft began to grow. When he studied engineering, he had two options. The first is to become a pilot in the Air Force and the second is to become a scientist in the Ministry of Defense. Kalam valued his dreams and flew from South India to North India to be interviewed for becoming a pilot in the Air Force.
In the interview, Dr. Abdul Kalam answered every question but the result of the interview showed that life will take an even tougher test. Eight people were selected, of which Dr. Kalam was the ninth. Then he came to Delhi and started working as a scientist in a place where his monthly salary was only fifty rupees. Three years later the Aeronautical Development Establishment became a center in Bengaluru and they were sent to this center.
He was then tasked with building indigenous aircraft which was considered very difficult. But Dr. Kalam also succeeded in that and his colleagues also flew the first flight in a hovercraft. Defense Minister Krishnaman also lauded him and said that he would build an even more powerful aircraft but Kalam could not do his job again after Krishnamanan was removed from the defense ministry.
Dr. Abdul Kalam then gave an interview to the Indian Committee for Space Research. Here he was interviewed by Vikram Sarabhai and he was also selected and he was selected in place of Rocket Engineer. They were sent to NASA. After returning from NASA, he was given the responsibility of sending a rocket into the sky by India. He also fulfilled this responsibility. The flight was scheduled to take off after the rocket was ready, but shortly before takeoff, the hydraulic system began to leak. Failure was seen again. But Dr. Kalam did not give up. Not having time to fix the leak, Kalam and his associates set the rocket on their shoulders in such a way that the leak would stop. India's first satellite Nike Apache then flew. The Rohini rocket flew and India's identity spread all over the world on the breath of indigenous rockets.
