Second spaceport to be set up at Kulasekarapattinam in Tamil Nadu: Kulasekarapattinam is a coastal city in Tamil Nadu. It is in the famous Thoothukudi district. Which was earlier known as Tuticorin. This spaceport will be built on 2000 acres of land. PM Modi will lay its foundation stone on 28 February 2024. The project will promote science and technology in the state of Tamil Nadu. Sriharikota has two launch pads. Apart from this, a separate temporary launch pad will have to be constructed for all launches. Or one of the two has to be used.

Portuguese attack on Thoothukudi

Thoothukudi which is located on the edge of the country on the Coromandel coast, next to the Bay of Bengal and above Sri Lanka, was formerly called Thoothikoreen. Tuticorin Port is one of the major ports of India. It is about 600 km from Chennai, 190 km from Thiruvananthapuram. Dussehra in Thoothukudi is very famous after Mysore.
