The method was detailed in a research paper titled 'Print Listener: Uncovering the Oneness of Fingerprint Authentication via the Finger Friction Sound' by a team from the US University of Colorado and Tsinghua University, Wuhan University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

This way fingerprint cloning can be avoided

Special screen protectors should be used on mobile devices to protect against fingerprint cloning. The best counter-measure to prevent fingerprints from being stolen is to change the way we use smartphones and screens.
