The National Green Tribunal has ordered to prepare and submit a detailed research-based report on the effects of microplastic particles found in the human body on human health. Details of its physical and mental effects have been reported. Micro plastic particles have been found in the blood flowing through the human body due to the units posing a threat to human health by polluting water, land and forest.

Microplastics enter the bloodstream through food and water

The present order comes after a committee constituted by the National Green Tribunal upheld the fact that fine particles of plastic are being found in the blood of the human body. Fine particles of microplastics are getting into the blood cells through food and water. Due to this, the risk to human health is increasing. Even through breathing, heavy metals are entering the human body. Microplastic particles in human blood are also increasing due to water seeping into the ground from landfill sites. The National Green Tribunal constituted a committee to study this. It included the Central Pollution Control Board, Indian Council of Medical Research, Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology and NCSCM and other expert bodies in the committee. This committee investigated and reported that it is true that microplastic particles are entering the human blood. Studies have revealed ultrafine particles of plastic in human saliva, blood, intestines, and even lungs. The committee said in its report that due to drinking of polluted water, disposal of plastic in sewers, lack of facilities to separate fine plastic particles in sewage treatment plants and early plastic with water flowing on the surface, ultra-fine plastic particles are entering the human body and from there into human blood. is The committee of experts said that this situation is being created as pipelines carrying drinking water are also made of plastics including polyethylene, plovinyl chloride, polypropylene.

Microplastics are also believed to leach into water through detergents

As a result of reasons including sewage water, plastic used as mulching in agriculture, plastic going into municipal waste, plastic particles have also started increasing in the soil. Microplastics are also thought to leach into water through laundry detergent.

There is no reliable method to measure fine plastic particles in the atmosphere

Very fine particles of plastic are found in early blood and other organs in the human body, but there is no standard system for measuring how much of it is in the air, water or soil. The ISO is currently studying this. How much plastic enters the human body due to which source has not yet been studied in detail

Microplastics enter the human body from industrial waste

As the contaminated waste is not properly managed by the industries, the contaminated water is not properly treated and the microplastic is getting mixed in the water and through it getting into the human body and blood. However, a detailed study of how much plastic enters the human body due to which source has not yet been done.
