Do you also keep your iPhone in water? Apple said - This is a big mistake

Navi Mumbai, dt. 21 February 2024, Wednesday

Many people have a habit of using the phone constantly, even while working in the kitchen or washing clothes, they sit with the phone on the side and if someone calls, they pick it up with wet hands. Apart from this, if the phone falls into water, then the phone turns off, so it is immediately kept in rice to dry.

Some people's phones never turn on. Doing something with Apple's iPhone in such a situation can be a mistake. Recently, on its official site, Apple has warned against using rice to dry the iPhone. Apple has termed this method as dangerous as it can damage the phone.

Apple called it dangerous

For many years, phones falling into water have been a common problem. To fix it, many people put a wet phone in a bag of rice, so that the rice absorbs the water and the phone is fixed. But technology experts termed it as a rumor and now Apple has also confirmed it. Apple has described this method as dangerous. Because it may damage the phone.

The change follows a report by British news website Metro, which first spotted the update on Apple's website.

Now they are told to take the right steps if their phone gets waterlogged, reducing the risk of further damage to their phone.

Apple said this

* First of all, do not connect until your phone and charging cable are completely dry. To dry your iPhone, tilt it slightly downwards and gently pat it with your hand to remove excess water. Place the phone in a ventilated area.

* After at least 30 minutes, check by connecting the charging cable or any accessory.

If this warning comes again it means, there is still water in the charging port or cable pin. Keep your phone in open air for a day. If the phone feels dry, try charging it again or connect an accessory during this time.

What not to do if the iPhone is wet?

Apple says not to use a heater, hair dryer, or blowing machine to dry your iPhone. Also, inserting any foreign object like cotton or tissue paper into the charging port is not advised. Do not put your phone in a bag of rice, as small pieces of rice can damage your iPhone.
