Another 'Udan' of ISRO successfully launched two Singaporean satellites

Indian Space Research Organization successfully launched two Singaporean satellites TeleOS-2 and LumiLite-4 this afternoon by PSLV-C55 rocket. The satellites were launched into low Earth orbit from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. POEM will also fly with these two satellites. POEM will do some testing in the vacuum of space. This was the 57th flight of PSLV.

PSLV is a four stage rocket

The full form of POEM is the PSLV Orbital Experimental Module. PSLV is a four stage rocket. Its three phases fall into the ocean. The last is the fourth stage which is also called PS4. Space debris is littered after a satellite is launched into its orbit. POEM will now be used to experiment on this. For this, the Singapore government has prepared it in collaboration with engineering students there. It will be able to provide day-night and all-weather coverage. It has been developed in partnership with Singapore's Infocomm Research Institute and National University of Singapore's Satellite Technology and Research Centre. This aims to enhance Singapore's e-Navigation maritime safety and benefit the global shipping community.

Apart from the satellite, the payload will be sent

According to Isro, the payload will be managed by a single command after the separation of the two Singapore satellites. Solar panels will be mounted around the PS-4 tank on the platform which will be deployed after the satellite is installed. The arrangement of solar panels will be done by ground command. The platform will ensure that the deployed solar panels are facing the sun using the correct sun pointing mode to provide the required power to the platform.

ISRO has launched 422 foreign satellites so far

ISRO recently successfully conducted the RLV Autonomous Landing Mission (RLV-LEX) at the Aeronautical Test Range in Chitradurga, Karnataka. With the launch of 36 OneWeb satellites in March this year, ISRO has so far launched 422 foreign satellites.
