Meta Accounts Center: Have you checked it out?

Settings for Meta Company's various apps can be done from one place, now adding new features

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, YouTube... all these social media sites are focused on one or the other. Some have a focus on text posts, some on latest news, some on images, some on professional networking, some on brand promotion, etc. Therefore, the audience of each site is also different.

People who are active on social media for a specific purpose often choose a social site that best suits their purpose and stay more active on it. But many people continue to browse all these sites with increasing frequency throughout the day.

People doing digital promotion especially for their own or client's business have to be active on all these sites. Of these, if you're active on various sites owned by the original Meta company, it's now easier to connect all those apps and manage their settings.

Companies like Google, Apple, Microsoft keep the settings of all their services common, Meta company also added such a facility three years ago, which has now expanded with more features. If you are a power user of Meta Apps, these features may be useful for you too!

- Settings of FB-Insta can be done from one place

Most likely you are active on Facebook. Apart from this, depending on your age, you may be active on Facebook as well as Instagram. It is also very likely that the content you share in one app will be shared in another app as well. As discussed above, audiences on Facebook and Instagram are different. But if the audience you are targeting is on both platforms, there is no harm in sharing the same content on both.

Since Facebook bought different apps/services to expand its reach, it was likely that it would integrate Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp etc. apps in different ways. Meta as a company has almost done this and has started collecting data on users of all apps!

Apart from this, now the company is also making it easier for the users, i.e. us, to manage different accounts of such apps.

As part of this, Facebook launched the Meta Accounts Center in September 2020 on Facebook and Instagram. In that convenience (and until we get the new features as written on the side) in this Accounts Center we get the benefits as written in the box below.

Until now, Facebook and Instagram accounts had the option to manage various types of content sharing and other basic things from a single place as a benefit.

Now Meta Company has expanded the features of Accounts Center much more.

Accounts Center in Facebook

Open the Facebook app and click on the three horizontal lines at the top right corner of the screen. Scroll down and go to 'Settings and Privacy'. Now go to settings again. Scroll down and you will see 'Meta Accounts Center'.

Accounts Center in Instagram

Open the Instagram app. In it, click on your profile picture at the bottom right corner. Now go to settings by clicking on the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner. Scroll down here and you will see 'Accounts Center'.

By going to the Meta Accounts Center in this way in Facebook or Instagram, we will eventually reach a single central Meta Accounts Center page and from there we can make common settings related to both services (or more) as we wish. After this we can go to the settings in Facebook or Instagram or Meta and make settings related to how to share content from one app to another app and how to login from one app to another app.

Should take advantage of this feature?

This issue was questioned! If you use both Facebook and Instagram a lot, it will be easier to connect both accounts and make their common settings, instead of doing separate settings for both. In this way, log-in and content sharing will also be easy in both. After getting more features, it can also be taken advantage of.

- Current use of Accounts Center

Currently, if you have an account in both Facebook and Instagram, you can connect the accounts of both apps to each other by going to the Meta Accounts Center in either app.

Additionally, if you have a Meta account for Horizon, the platform for Meta's virtual reality service, you can add it here as well.

In Meta Accounts Center we can add one Facebook account and 24 Instagram accounts! One Facebook account, one Meta account and 23 Instagram accounts can be added.

- Easy sharing across different apps

If you regularly post posts, stories, reels, etc. to Facebook, and want to share the same to Instagram, this setting is now possible in the Meta Accounts Center (this feature will be retained in the new feature). On the contrary, whatever content we post in Instagram will also go to Facebook, automatically, such a setting can also be done from here.

The good thing is that on both platforms, you can choose which content from stories, posts, reels, etc. is automatically shared on the other platform. It means that the control is in our hands.

- Easy login from different accounts

Facebook-Instagram login with each other's login details is now easy. Again, settings for this can be made by going to the Meta Accounts Center in either app.

As the company says, the option to log into each other from all your Facebook-Instagram accounts is simple, just turning on a radio button. But if you want, you can also fine-tune which of multiple Facebook and Instagram accounts can be used to login to the other. It means that even here the control is in our hands.

- New features in Accounts Center

Now Meta Company has further expanded its Accounts Center. Till now we used to connect apps like Facebook and Instagram in the Accounts Center and automatically share the content posted in one app to the other app and log in to the other app using one app. Now many other common settings can be made for both accounts. This means that in either app, we can make different settings that apply to both the Facebook and Instagram apps.

According to the new features, from the Meta Accounts Center we can access our personal details, password and security related settings in both apps, our own information and the various permissions we have given to both apps, preferences for what kind of ads we want to see on both platforms, and if applicable Payment settings can also be done from one place.

It is worth noting that any settings you make here will apply to all apps under the Meta Company by taking advantage of this new Meta Accounts Center. It's also worth noting that similar settings can be made in different ways in the Facebook and Instagram apps in addition to the Meta Accounts Center. Not only that, we can connect both accounts whenever we want and disconnect them whenever we want.
