You must have sometimes experienced that when you are viewing a webpage in the browser of PC or smartphone, you feel that the latest information that should be on that page is not there. In general , most websites are less likely to look like this , because we are not sure what they should look like. We don't know anything about new and old. But if the news appears old on a news site or in an app like Google News, we immediately feel that we are not seeing updated data in the browser or app. Similarly, if you have your own website and you have made some changes in the backend , even if they are not visible in the frontend, you will immediately understand that something is wrong.
The reason for this is ' browser cache ' (Cache - the word cache is also used).
Usually, when we open any webpage in our browser , the browser or app also downloads a lot of data of that webpage , which is called cache , to load it quickly when we open the webpage again in the future . Mostly the browser downloads images and other information in this way.
So when we open that webpage in the future, even if the backend of that webpage has been changed, the browser will show us the old webpage according to the data it downloaded. Thus, while opening a webpage, the browser checks whether there have been any changes in the webpage or not. But new data may not load due to many reasons.
In such a situation we have to refresh the page to see the new information.

If old data is showing on the page in the PC/Laptop or smartphone browser or in an app in the smartphone, we can refresh the page by clicking on the round arrow seen at the top of the browser.
On mobile, clicking on the three dots in the browser has a ' refresh ' button on the top right side of the panel that opens. In many mobile browsers and apps, swiping the page from top to bottom also reloads the page.
If the page does not refresh after doing this, we have to ' hard refresh ' or ' force reload ' it. The procedure for this is easy in PC/Laptop. We can do this by pressing shift+ refresh button in browser toolbar.
Doing so deletes all old webpage data saved in the browser and reloads the page completely. The browser can also be force refreshed by pressing Control+F5 or Control+Shift+R keys in Chrome , Firefox or Edge browsers on Windows PC/Laptop .
This can be done by pressing Shift+Command+R key in Chrome or Firefox browser on Mac. We have to clear the cache by pressing Command+Option+E key in Safari browser on Mac.
In all these cases , finally we completely delete all the data already stored of that webpage in that browser , so that all the content of the entire page is loaded afresh and we can see the latest content of the page.

To refresh a webpage or app in a mobile, one has to swipe the page from top to bottom or press the refresh button in the browser menu , but in the PC browser, just pressing the refresh button worked.
A PC can easily be hard refreshed if a simple refresh doesn't work. Such facilities are not available in Android smartphones , iPhones or iPads.
For hard refresh in mobile device we have to go to browser settings in mobile and delete downloaded data.
For that, click on the three dots given above in the mobile browser , open the right panel. This can be done by clicking on ' History ' and then on ' Clear Browsing Data ' .
Go to browser settings to proceed further. Go to ' Site Settings ' and then ' Data Stored ' . Now we will see a list of the various websites we have visited previously and also how much data the browser has downloaded for each of them (when your browser is slow or the phone is running out of space, the data stored in the browser can also be a reason). Here we can clear all downloaded data for all sites by clicking on the ' Clear All Data ' button at the bottom or select specific sites and clear only their data.
Now by closing the browser and re-opening the old webpage, the browser will reload its data and we will see the page correctly with the latest information!
