First image of Japan's lander appears in front of... Rover takes historic photo, gives evidence of landing

First picture of SLIM on the Moon: Japan has received the first picture of SLIM (Smart Lander for Investigating Moon) from the surface of the moon. This is a historical photo. This photo was taken by the LEV-2 robot rover shipped with Slim. Which is a small geometry box shaped robot. Lander Slim landed on the Moon on January 19, 2024. After that, Japan became the fifth country to make a soft landing.

Slim was shipped with the LEV-2

LEV-2 stands for Lunar Exploration Vehicle also called SORA-Q by Japanese scientists. Apart from LEV-2, one more rover has been sent to the Moon with Slim. Kintaro Toyama, director and chairman of Japanese toy company Takara Tomy, said, 'SORA-Q is Japan's first robot to land on the lunar surface. Now doing photography there. For this, thanks to all involved in this mission. Who fulfilled a dream together.'

Japan successfully landed a lander on the moon but...

On January 19, 2024, Japan successfully landed a lander on the Moon. But its solar panels failed to provide power, due to which electricity could not be generated. Hence the lander is also not getting energy. Solar panels are not capable of generating electricity. Due to which the future of Lander seems to be in danger. But Japan's space agency JAXA has not yet declared Slim dead. Japan still hopes to activate their slim lunar lander on the moon.

Japan became the fifth country to make a soft landing

It took 5 months for the Japanese spacecraft to reach the moon. Slim sent a lot of technical data and photos to Japan. By the end of this week it will be known if Japan's slim lander will be relaunched or will die there! One thing is also to be known that Japan has become the fifth country to make a soft landing on the moon. Earlier India, Russia, America and China have got this success.

Japan became the country that made accurate landing

Japanese space agency JAXA said that first an area of 600x4000 km was searched for Slim's landing. For which the polar region of the moon was selected. The most important thing is that the landing is done at the specific place chosen for landing. Because Japan aimed that its spacecraft should land within 100 meters of the landing site. And he has succeeded in this task. Japan made a soft landing at a landing site called Shioli Crater. Which is said to be the darkest place on the moon. Another possible landing site is Mare Nectaris. which is called the sea of the moon.

Slim is equipped with advanced technology

Slim is equipped with advanced optical and image processing technology. The X-ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM) has also accompanied SLIM. It will orbit the moon and probe the plasma winds that flow on the moon. So that the origin of stars and galaxies in the universe can be known. It is jointly developed by Japan, NASA and the European Space Agency.
