The world's demand is now for electric vehicles, so Chinese companies are now making headway towards this. Chinese company BYD is set to overtake Elon Musk's Tesla to become the world's top seller of EVs in December, but now another Chinese company is about to enter the electric vehicle segment. Interestingly, this company has mastery in making smartphones but now along with techno gadgets and smartphones it will also venture into the EV sector and the name of this Chinese company is Xiaomi.
Giant smartphone maker Xiaomi has today unveiled its first electric car SU7. The company has released the official photo of Xiaomi SU7. Xiaomi has also revealed important details of its first EV. However, the company has also given information about how this car will be different from other electric cars.
Xiaomi SU7 Design and Features –
Xiaomi SU7 is a four-door electric sedan car. Its length is 4997 mm, width is 1963 mm and height is 1455 mm. The latest electric car will come with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. The look of Xiaomi SU7 is the tech equivalent of Porsche. Talking about its wheelbase, it gets sporty alloy wheels with aqua blue exterior color theme.
How much will the car run in full charge?
According to EV manufacturer Xiaomi, the SU7 will offer a range of up to 800 kilometers on a single full charge. According to the company, 2025 will also see a V8 variant, which will come with a larger 150 kWh battery pack with a range of 1200 km. Its entry level variant Xiaomi SU7 has a 73.6 kWh battery pack and the top variant will have a 101 kWh battery pack. The special thing is that Xiaomi has developed its own CTB (cell-to-body) technology.

According to Xiaomi chairman and CEO Lei, the Xiaomi SU7 is not intended to compete in the market but the SU7 EV is set to rival the Tesla Model S in terms of looks and performance. The Xiaomi car will be manufactured at a Beijing unit owned by carmaker BAIC Group. The plant has an annual production capacity of 2 lakh vehicles.
However, when it comes to the most important information i.e. price and launch date, the company has only unveiled the features and looks of the first SU7 electric car. Its pricing and launch details are yet to be announced. However, there is a possibility of its launch in the middle of 2024.
