Hemophilia causes the blood clotting process in the body to slow down and due to this the blood flowing through the body cannot be stopped quickly. This disease is more common in men than women. Hemophilia is mainly of two types. Hemophilia type A and hemophilia type B. CSS Baring's drug is effective in hemophilia type B.

Are there any medications available other than Hemgenics?

This medicine is given only once. As part of its effect, it is claimed to have reduced bleeding cases by 54 percent. Factor IX is currently used to treat hemophilia. But this treatment also takes a lot of time and is quite expensive. While a single dose of Hemgenics saves patients from the hassle of regular treatment, the cost is much higher. Also experts claim that its cost is high but its chances of success are also high.

Hemgenics is the most expensive drug according to the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review. This organization assesses the cost of medicines and other medical products. According to him, HemGenix is ​​very expensive compared to Zinteglo ($2.8 million) and Zolgenzma ($2.1 million), which are used for single-dose gene therapy.

What is Hemophilia B?
