This search engine is celebrating its 25th birthday today. A special doodle has also been created on the Google homepage on this occasion.

Google is celebrating its birthday in a fun way by showing its journey of last 25 years with this doodle. If you go to Google.com, you will see 'G25gle' written on the homepage instead of Google and a special GIF will appear. This doodle shows that the company has completed a journey of 25 years.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin invented Google

As an Internet search engine, Google is the largest platform in the world today. If a person wants to get any information, he searches only through Google. Google has an answer to almost every question. Google was invented in September 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, two students from Stanford University in California. The two met at Stanford University's computer science program in the late 90s.

The pair toiled from their hostel room to develop a prototype of a better search engine. It actually started as a research project. On 27 September 1998, Google Inc. was officially born. Larry Page and Sergey Brin created the Internet search engine at the address Google.stanford.edu. Larry Page and Sergey Brin named it 'Backrub' before officially launching it. It was later Googled.

25 years completed today

A lot has changed since 1998 which can be seen in today's doodle. However, Google's mission has always been the same – to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Billions of people around the world use Google to search, connect, work, play and more.
