A green dot appears on the phone screen?

Have you ever seen a green dot on your laptop screen next to the camera or in the upper right corner of your smartphone screen ? This is a privacy related feature. Talking about smartphones, this feature has been added since the 12th version of Android.

This green dot appears on the screen whenever our device's camera or microphone or both are in use. If you turn on the camera itself, you will see the camera icon on the green background for a second or two in the right corner and then it will turn into a tiny green dot. The same happens when using a microphone. If there is any malware in our phone, it can turn on the camera or microphone or both in the background. So something else may be running on the phone screen or it may appear to be off but the phone's camera or microphone may be capturing what it sees/hears! Green Dot lets us know if something like this is going on.
