Challenge to enemies on maritime security, launch of country's first autonomous underwater vehicle, help in surveillance-espionage
India is making possible efforts to strengthen its defense sector to avoid the evil eye of India's neighboring countries. The Kolkata-based Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers has developed an autonomous underwater vehicle for the country's largest coastline, whose security has become a priority for the country. which is a self-propelled underwater robotic submarine. Its length is 2.1 meters and weight is 50 kg. It can stay in the sea for up to three hours continuously. It can be kept in contact with the GPS system fitted in it and through this it can find its way in the sea.
Maritime security as its primary role
GRSE informed on Twitter that the fully indigenous AUV has been landed in the Bay of Bengal. A lot of advanced technology has been installed in it. So that if the enemy creates any kind of conspiracy in the sea, it can be known. If he lands to watch the sea, the nefarious movements of the enemy will be informed in advance. This submarine can also be used for scientific research.
Maritime surveillance will get help
Due to which marine monitoring can be done in real time. Sea surveillance is called maritime surveillance. Now these AUVs or drones also help in this work. When a country has such a large maritime border, simply monitoring from above the waves will not do. It is very important to be careful even below the sea level.
Made in India AUV equipped with state-of-the-art technology
The Made in India AUV is affordable and highly advanced, providing automatic surveillance for extended periods of time under the sea. This would save the cost of employing large ships, techniques, equipment and troops. It is beneficial for real time monitoring. Advanced sensors are installed inside it. State-of-the-art cameras have been fitted. Infrared technology is also installed. Which makes it suitable for all kinds of surveillance and spying.
