Android users face two new malware threats, a major threat to the security of precious data


Two new viruses from the malware family targeting Android users on Google Play are spreading very quickly. Fraud using crypto currency credential, fund transfer and optical character recognition.

Two viruses called Chairy Blos and Fake Trade

Two viruses from the malware family named ChairyBloss and FakeTrade are targeting Android users in Google Play. This virus uses optical character recognition (OCR) to steal funds along with crypto currency credentials. According to Trend Micro, a software company working on cyber security, both viruses are using the same network infrastructure and certificates. Hence it can be concluded that this virus must have been developed by the same individuals.

Information about cherry blossom malware first surfaced in 2023

Any app is downloaded through different means like social media, phishing website and Google play store. Cherry blossom malware was first reported in 2023. This virus used to steal information in the form of AI tool or crypto currency through Telegram, Twitter and YouTube in APK format called GPTalk, Happy Miner, Robot999. After being downloaded, this virus takes the person's information and later can change the person's information as well as copy the text on the photo and image.

Will copy his taxes with the help of OCR

A researcher has claimed that if the virus is given permission, it will first read the pictures with external stories and copy them with the help of OCR and upload them to the C&C server at certain intervals. The researcher also said that this virus-laden app lures subscriptions by displaying advertisements.
