The reel will be downloaded in Instagram!

Social media companies are experts at copying each other's features. After TikTok's massive success worldwide, all kinds of social media sites are copying its feature. Like Tiktok short videos could be downloaded and shared with others. The same feature is now coming to Instagram as well.

Reels that are public on Instagram can now be downloaded and then easily shared outside of the Instagram app, as Instagram's head announced on its Instagram broadcast channel last week.

Open any reel you like to take advantage of this feature. Click on the share icon given in the bottom right corner. At the bottom you will get the download option. Clicking it will download the video to the phone's camera gallery (this feature is currently being rolled out in the US , may take a while).

When a video is downloaded in Tiktok, the Tiktok watermark remains on the video. The same will happen in Instagram Reels. If we want to download our own reel, its draft version can be downloaded without watermark. Of course the audio added to the reel may not be downloaded if copyright applies.

It is worth keeping in mind that reels shared in private accounts cannot be downloaded and public accounts can also be set to not download reels.
