An Indian astronaut will go to the International Space Station in 2024

President Biden said that America will take an Indian astronaut to the International Space Station in 2024. Another important thing was that India would join the Artemis Treaty. It is a framework of legal options that paves the way for cooperation in space exploration on a large scale.

Selection of four male test pilots from the Indian Air Force

According to sources, India has selected four male test pilots from the Indian Air Force as part of the first astronaut corps, but they have been trained according to the Russian system.

With a pre-selected pilot or a new person selection?

Whether the four pre-selected pilots will fly with SpaceX or Boeing's Starliner rocket or a new person will be chosen will be clear shortly.

Expenditure for training and rocket ride on Govt of India

Sources in the Indian Space Research Organization said that India will bear the cost of training the astronauts and the rocket ride. A launch costs Rs. 200 crores may be exceeded. The training can be completed in about six months. The American private sector manages the training and launching. If all goes according to plan, the launch is likely to happen before the general elections next year.
