Look carefully at the adjacent screenshots. It shows the condition of Bakhmat City and its surroundings in war-torn Ukraine. The pink part shows how Russian forces gradually besieged and captured Bakhmat City, Ukraine . You must know about timelapse videos. In this type of video, long-term changes in a subject are captured in video form. And then the speed of that video is increased significantly and it is played. For example, in the early morning in the garden, we can see the whole process of a bud blossoming into a full flower in just half a minute as a timelapse video. Similarly, we can see the construction process of a skyscraper taking shape in a few months in a 5-7 minute timelapse video.
This is the same concept as a timelapse map , but it is often used to examine how different parts of the Earth have changed over time. In Google Earth Services, we can see - at a glance - how a section of the Sabarmati riverbank in Ahmedabad looked before the riverfront development and how it is now with the help of this technique. Similarly, a timelapse map can be seen of how a project of huge hotels and villas has developed along the seafront in Dubai. Timelapse maps also provide an opportunity to see how much forest cover is increasing or decreasing in different parts of the Earth.
