Minor errors in documents can be corrected with smart find-replace

While we prepare our Microsoft Word documents as accurately as possible , when you have to edit a report or document prepared by someone else , if the person sending you the document is not a perfectionist, he may have made a number of typographical errors, especially one . Repeatedly made the same mistakes! As many people have a habit of entering a space twice after a full stop after finishing the sentence. Many people want to put a question mark or exclamation mark at the end of a sentence by entering a space after typing the last word followed by a question mark or exclamation mark.

These are all minor errors. However, when this text is to be arranged in a layout it can move. For example, if there is a space left before the question mark, it can happen that the sentence ends on the first line and the question mark is at the beginning of a new line! Such errors can also be corrected using Word's ' Find-Replace ' feature.

Ctrl+h for that   Open the ' Find and Replace ' window by pressing the key . Copy and paste the question with a space in front of it in ' Find What ' . Now paste it again in the ' Replace with ' box and delete the next space.

Now clicking ' Replace All ' will correct all such minor errors in the entire document.

The ' Find and Replace ' feature can thus be useful for correcting many types of formatting errors in addition to specific words.

You can also change different types of formatting simultaneously if you want.
