H... lol... no... can't be heard , speak louder...! " Once upon a time, such noises were common in houses that were equipped with telephones like black boxes in Ganyagangant ' mobhadar ' houses. After the days of ' trunk calls ' were over , the same old , landline telephones had improved voice clarity significantly. Now that landline phones have left most of the homes , no one will believe the generation accustomed to smartphones if they say that voice clarity was better in landline phones! But this is a fact.

When we can't hear a clear voice while we are talking on the mobile or the other person, we go to the balcony of the house or office and try to find a better signal. In fact , apart from poor signal , the problem is also due to poor smartphone hardware!

Smartphones today are getting smarter and can do more than just making phone calls, but mobile handset manufacturers and voice-data service providers have become so interested in all the other functions that can be done on smartphones that the basic function of phone calling has changed. But his attention waned. As a result , mobile phones do not have as good clarity as old-fashioned landlines.

Fortunately , companies are now realizing that phones are also for conversations and so voice clarity should be there! Therefore, companies like Apple , Google , Samsung etc. are trying to increase the clarity of sound with software in addition to hardware in their smartphones. Apart from the expensive phones of these companies , let's talk about how we can increase the clarity of the voice and reduce the background noise in other phones.

iPhones are known for their quality of everything , however , you may not be satisfied with the clarity of the voice for a variety of reasons (if iPhones have this condition, other phones will have similar problems!). But the iPhone has now added a feature that can improve voice clarity significantly.

If your iPhone has iOS 15 or later operating system, you can take advantage of a feature called ' Voice Isolation ' . As the name suggests , this feature isolates the conversational voice from other ambient noise! Until now this feature only worked for calls from certain apps , but with iOS 16.4 version it can be used for regular phone calls as well.

One thing is worth noting though - this feature makes our voice clearer to those to whom we have connected the phone call. We ourselves don't get the benefit of it (unless the other person also has this feature enabled on their phone).

This means that when you make a phone call to someone important (Boss or Mrs.!) while standing on the road in the middle of city traffic, if the iPhone has this feature enabled, the other person will not be able to hear your voice over the traffic noise! But you may find it difficult to hear their voice yourself.

With this limitation , to take advantage of the ' Voice Isolation ' feature...

Open the Control Center by swiping down from the top right corner of the screen after turning on the phone call.

Find ' Mic Mode ' in it and tap on it. Now select the ' Voice Isolation ' option from the options that appear .

After we enable voice isolation on the phone, the background voice becomes less distracting to the other person when we have a conversation. However, in the process of improving our voice, the software of the phone slightly changes our voice, so the background noise is reduced to the other person, but our voice may not sound natural. So it is okay to turn off the voice isolation feature when you are not in a noisy place.

Like the iPhone, Google has added a feature called ' ClearCalling ' to its Pixel phones to improve voice quality . Google announced this feature while launching the latest version of the Pixel phone. But this feature was not included in the phone when it was launched. After that, this feature has been added to Pixel 7 range phones from December 2022. One problem though is that this feature is only available in Pixel7 and Pixel7Pro!

This feature of Google works completely opposite to that of Apple. It makes the voice from the opposite end clearer to ourselves during conversation! Of course this feature works only when the internet connection is on in the phone. If you have a Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro phone, the following steps can be taken to enable the ClearCalling feature.

Go to phone settings.

Find ' Sound and Vibration ' in it .

Find ' Clearcalling ' in it and tap on it.

Now turn on ' Use ClearCalling ' .

Google explains that how well this feature will work depends on how good the phone's internet connection is. But unlike Apple , in Google Pixel we can keep this feature on continuously.

Samsung's Voice Focus feature is superior to both Apple and Google in one way - it makes the voice clearer to the person on both ends of the call!
