Do not overcharge

Lithium-ion batteries found in most electric vehicles work best in the 30-80 percent charge range. Constant full charging of the battery puts a load on the battery and damages the battery.

Do not charge immediately after driving

Many people immediately charge electric vehicles when they return after driving. This should be avoided. Lithium-ion batteries generate excessive heat when supplying power to the motor. It is safe to charge the battery after it has cooled for at least 30 minutes.
