The best known example of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model is road development. If the government itself does not meet the cost of road development, the work should be handed over to a private company in such a way that the company recovers the cost incurred by collecting toll tax. As a user, we may face toll tax , but we also get good roads. This is the same way of garden development in cities , we will not spend any money on it!

This model of PPP is now expanding continuously in the field of technology , fortunately there is no direct cost to us - yet - we don't know if there are any indirect costs !

For example , when the UPI system came in, even companies that had nothing to do with banking were associated as partners. Perhaps this issue has played a major role in popularizing UPI. Such partnerships also exist in the vast network of e-commerce that is being created.

On the other hand , almost all banks , railways , LIC etc. have started using popular platforms like WhatsApp heavily without any apparent partnership.

DigiLocker is the ' hot topic ' for such partnerships at the moment . After WhatsApp, this government service that provides the facility to save our important documents in digital form is now also connecting with Google.

Such partnership is set to expand in many ways in the coming time!

DigiLocker documents will be saved in the Files app

During the ' Google for India 2022 ' event at the end of last year in December , Google talked about new initiatives , one of which is Google's integration with the Indian government's DigiLocker service.

Now our various documents in DigiLocker can be accessed very easily in WhatsApp. That will now be possible in Google as well. For this, Google will add a new , password-protected section to its ' Files ' app . Our certificates will now be available in handy and authentic form in files rather than WhatsApp.

As discussed below, the ' Files ' app is currently used as a files manager in Android (for the iPhone , Apple has a similar app , called ' Files '!). In every Android phone , that phone manufacturing company provides a file manager app , but this app from Google is very simple and smart. It also doesn't have tons of ads , suggestions from other apps , and in-app purchases.

DigiLocker service has so far been able to retrieve and store documents of 2300 organizations and the number of its users has crossed 10 crores. If we are using the DigiLocker app, there is no need to bring the documents files in the app , but the government is planning to spread the load on the DigiLocker service to various companies like UPI. However, it is not clear when this facility will be available in the files.

As written above , the current use of the ' Files ' app in Android is as a files manager. If there are various types of files accumulating in your phone and you cannot easily manage or clean them with the help of other apps available in the phone , then the ' Files ' app makes this task very easy.

The app ( Files by Google(Beta)) itself is lightweight ( 6.3 MB) when downloaded . Install and open it from Android Playstore, so first we have to allow access to our photos , videos , documents etc. After that, the app will show how much space is filled in the phone's internal storage and SD card, and suggest deleting large files after checking them . Open this app a few times , cleaning the phone will be easy.

Find different files from phone….

We decide the location of our files in PC-Laptop ourselves , but since this work is done automatically in smartphones , sometimes it becomes difficult to find where photos , videos , downloaded files etc. have gone. As with other files manager apps , the ' Files ' app makes this task very easy. It displays our images , videos , audio files , other documents , apps, etc. in various folders, category-wise , and provides easy access to everything. From there we can delete or move the unnecessary ones.

It also has a ' safe folder ' now , we can save important documents with pin/pattern lock. A similar separate folder for DigiLocker's documents is likely to be added to the Files app.

To easily share files with another person...

The management of files in the phone has four main aspects - easy access to work files , moving files from one place to another in the phone as needed, removing and deleting unnecessary files and giving files to someone else .

This ' someone ' could be another person's phone and could also be an account in another app. If you are trying a way like WhatsApp or email to share phone files with another person, ' Files ' offers an easier way. Open the ' Files ' app on the other person's phone , say ' Send ' from one and ' Receive ' from the other , then both phones connect via Bluetooth and exchange the file quickly - for this work, we don't need to tap the file in WhatsApp or email !

To upload to another account...

This happens often - many photo-videos of us , ourselves or family come to WhatsApp. There is also the presence of unnecessary photo-videos in WhatsApp , while deleting them , there is a fear that the photo-videos of that work will also be deleted. We should really save such photo-video in our ' Google Photos ' account or any other account safely. Thus , file sharing within a service rather than another person is also facilitated by the ' Files ' service.

Like sending a WhatsApp image to Google Photos , go to the ' Browse ' section , to Images , to WhatsApp Images. Select the desired photo in it , click on the ' Share ' button and upload it to your Google account. It could be the other way around , the ' Files ' app makes the job just a little bit easier.
