Why Customize 'Quick Access Toolbar' in Excel?

Earlier in ' TechnoWorld ' we have gone into detail about the ' Quick Access Toolbar ' to keep our frequently used commands ' click away' in the Microsoft Word program . The Quick Access Toolbar is located at the top left of the program , to which we can add the commands we need. This feature is also available in Microsoft Excel.

To customize it in Excel , open Excel and go to its options. Here in the left side panel you will find the option of ' Quick Access Toolbar ' . Selecting it will show Quick Access Toolbar options on the right. On the right side of it, you will see whatever commands are currently set in the Quick Toolbar.

In it, we can decide whether the customization of the Quick Access Toolbar applies only to the currently open file or to all files by selecting the dropdown menu at the top.

By selecting the commands given below, we can change their order with the help of the up-down arrows on the right. Apart from this, in Excel, we can select the command that we use frequently from the left panel and add it to the Quick Access Toolbar using the Add button in the middle.

Here too, selecting 'Popular Commands' or 'All Commands' or the commands in the various tabs in the ribbon using the dropdown arrow for the command at the top will make it easier for us to find the command we need.

For example, if you frequently use the Sum command in Excel, you can add it to the Quick Access Toolbar by selecting ' Sum ' in the Popular Commands and using the Add button in the middle.

This is just one example. You can add many useful commands to the Quick Access Toolbar. That way, after customizing the Quick Access Toolbar to your needs, you won't have to rummage through the title ribbon to find commands you use frequently. You can also use the drop down arrow on the rightmost side of the Quick Access Toolbar to access the Microsoft Excel options . Clicking it will instantly bring up some useful commands. One can select any of them or click on ' More Commands ' to go to the options we talked about.

And yes , the Quick Access Toolbar can be customized in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint in exactly the same way!
