Linked your Instagram and Facebook accounts?

If you are very active on social media, chances are you are active on both Facebook and Instagram. It may even happen that you are posting almost the same content on both! Ever since Facebook bought the Instagram service, the two platforms have been moving closer together.

If you are active in digital marketing, a Facebook account allows you to manage your ads on both the Facebook and Instagram platforms. Similarly, an average user can easily share their content on both platforms - by posting it on a single platform.

Let us understand the steps to link your Instagram account with Facebook account. The process is almost the same for Apple's iOS and Android operating systems. For that, open the Instagram app in your phone and click on the profile picture in it , go to the profile screen. In it, click on the three lines appearing on the top right and go to ' Settings ' . You will see the ' Account ' option at the bottom . Here you will see the option of ' Linked Account ' or ' Sharing to Other Apps ' . It will have a Facebook option (check out the other options too!). By clicking on Facebook we have to log-in to Facebook. By doing this, our Instagram and Facebook accounts will be linked. Now your Facebook account name will also appear on the account linking page in Instagram's settings. Now when you post something on Facebook or Instagram it will also be posted in other platforms.

From now on, whenever you post a story or post on Instagram, it can also be set to be automatically shared on Facebook. For that , click on your name on Facebook on the ' Share to other apps ' page. Hence, you will get options to automatically share the Instagram story or post to the Facebook account. If you are running a Facebook page in addition to your personal Facebook profile, you will also get an option to select it here.

If you want to share old photos from Instagram to Facebook, you can do that too. For that just click on that image and click on three dots to go to image menu. Here you will get the option to share that image. If the image is shared on Facebook it will be shared as the whole image but in other apps the image will be shared as a link to Instagram!
