5G will be launched in the country from Gandhinagar: PM Modi will inaugurate

Ahmedabad. 21 July 2022, Thursday

The fifth generation (5G) services, which are capable of the fastest data transfer in mobile services, will be launched in Gujarat's capital Gandhinagar in the country. It is known that these services will be dedicated to the country by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will start on August 15 when the country is completing 75 years of independence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to come to Gujarat after the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort and start the services.

The auction of spectrum for 5G services in the country is set to begin this week and the Adani group has also shown interest in bidding in addition to Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea and Airtel.

However, Adani has announced that this spectrum purchase is only for providing enterprise services, so customers will only get services from three companies.

Before the launch, testing of 5G services in Gujarat took place in Gandhinagar, Jamnagar and Vadodara. Tests were conducted by Reliance Jio at Jamnagar and Vodafone at Gandhinagar.

It is learned that Vodafone and Jio are preparing for the launch of the service on a war footing before Prime Minister Modi launches the service. Sources said that work is currently underway to start these services in the Mahatma temple at Gandhinagar.

Currently, no company has spectrum available for 5G service. After the auction, the PMO and the Department of Telecom are working to allot the spectrum to the winning companies immediately so that it can be launched on August 15.
