Donations and revenue to Wikipedia

You may have noticed that for the last few times we have been appealing for donations rather than searching for anything on the ' free encyclopedia ' Wikipedia (such an appeal has been made before). According to Wikipedia, 5% of its readers do not donate to Wikipedia, making it difficult for Wikipedia to survive. Wikipedia says that if we get knowledge of only Rs. 2 from it, we should give it at least Rs. 3 in a minute's time (an average of Rs. 215 per person from Wikipedia in India is being donated).

However, now a new source of revenue for Wikipedia is also emerging. Accordingly, whenever Wikipedia's content is displayed on Google's search engine, it will be paid by Google to Wikipedia. When we search for anything on Google, the relevant information is mostly extracted from Wikipedia and other sources and shown to us in the form of ' Knowledge Panel ' . Google will now pay for this information from Wikipedia. Google currently pays a number of news companies in Europe for their content in this way. No explanation has been given as to how much has been contracted between Wikipedia and Google.
