What is the super sonic boom that scared Parisians so much?

Paris, September 30, 2020, Wednesday

The blast, known as the Sonic Boom, was heard in the French capital, Paris. The sound of the blast was so powerful that people began to tremble. Some felt their home was shaking, scared to death by calling the emergency number for help. In fact there was no explosion in any city but a powerful sound like an explosion was about to break the sound barrier of a fighter jet. People breathed a sigh of relief after police reported the incident.

When a jet flies faster than the speed of sound, this type of explosion is called a sonic boom. The speed of sound is 3 meters per second. An aircraft that flies even faster than this speed of sound is called super sonic speed. These supersonic planes generate sound energy due to the sound so the sound is not heard when the plane is passing but it sounds like an explosion after passing. The same sound came when the super sonic plane passed through Paris but people were scared by the sudden explosion. However a connection behind the fear of the people of Paris was also responsible.

The Eiffel Tower, considered one of the wonders of the world, was closed to tourists after receiving threats to plant a bomb. Security has been beefed up in France amid fears of a terrorist attack on a Shirley Abdo newspaper trial for drawing a controversial cartoon in 2014. At such a time the Parisians were frightened to hear a sudden explosion. News of the Paris bombings spread like wildfire, not just in France. The chaos finally calmed down, proving to be a sonic boom.
