The use of technology is now increasing to prevent the spread of corona

Ahmedabad. 13 April 2020 Monday

In addition to medical technology, telecom and information technology are also playing an important role in the fight against the world. Technology is helping, in particular, the effective compliance of social distance and quarantine.

Last week, we talked about how Google has begun helping governments discover the impact of lockdowns in different countries by disclosing its location tracking data. Now technology is also helping to speed up those who are breaking the quarantine order. This job is relatively easy. The telecom company can know which cellphone tower is getting signal from the person who has been quarantined. If the tower that sends the signal to the mobile changes, it is immediately clear that the person has moved from his previous location somewhere! The telecom company should immediately inform the health department or the police and further steps should be taken. This includes risking personal privacy, but also preserving their health.

In addition, the Massachusetts Institute of America, Google, Apple, India, etc. are trying to prevent the spread of Covid-19 with the help of technology. In this method, we are also being alerted if a person in contact with location tracking and Bluetooth on our smartphone becomes Covid-19 positive later.

In South Korea, the government has begun to trace people from all over the country, as well as information about different people's movements from sources such as cellphone-location data, CCTVs, credit card records, etc., and whenever a person is proven to be Covid-19 positive. Also, it is reported to everyone who has been in contact before.

Now one of arch-rivals like Google and Apple has joined forces in the fight against Corona. The two companies announced last week that they are working on the joint project of developing Bluetooth-based contact tracing apps in a way that runs on both iOS and Android phones and does not endanger users' privacy.
