Gold Nanoparticles Found in Wild Mushrooms: Now gold will come out of mushrooms. Yes, we are not saying this but scientists are claiming this. In fact, researchers in Goa say they have created gold nanoparticles from wild mushrooms. The people of Goa eat this mushroom enthusiastically. This mushroom belongs to the species Termitomyces, which grows on termite mounds. This mushroom is called 'Roll Olmi' by the local people in their language. This wild mushroom is very famous among the people of Goa, people eat it more during the monsoon season.
The findings were published in the Journal of Geomicrobiology
Scientists have recently created gold nanoparticles using the mushroom's granular form. This discovery has just been made. The research was published by Taylor and Francis in the Journal of Geomicrobiology. With the help of this research, the natural resources of Goa can be used to create new technologies. It can improve the economy of Goa. This research was done by Dr. Sujata Dabolkar and Dr. It was done under the supervision of Nand Kumar Kamat. Both the scientists presented their research before Goa's Environment Minister Alexo Sikera.
Roadmap submitted to Goa government
Not only this, scientists have also shared a roadmap with the Goa government. In which he says that Goa can get economic benefit from this discovery. He claims that this will benefit the medical field a lot. If a drug is to be delivered to the patient's body, it can be delivered by placing it on a nanoparticle. Its use will lead to drug delivery to the target and revolutionize medical imaging and electronics manufacturing.
A gram of gold costs 80000 dollars
In fact, the price of gold nanoparticle is very high. As of February 2016, the price of one milligram of gold nanoparticle was around $80, which equates to $80,000 per gram.
