A bug in ChatGPT caused Locho! Credit card details of users were also leaked

Currently the users of ChatGPT are increasing very much. In such a situation, a shocking revelation has taken place. The disclosure revealed that a bug had leaked sensitive data including credit card details of hundreds of ChatGTP users. Actually a user found this bug in the system. OpenAI then had to take its popular ChatGPT bot offline for emergency maintenance. Due to this bug, users could also see other users' chat history titles. The incident was reported on Reddit, with users posting screenshots of their ChatGPT sidebar. Which shows the past chat history of other users. OpenAI kept the bot offline for about 10 hours while it investigated the issue.
The leaked data also included users' credit card details
OpenAI's preliminary findings have revealed a security issue. Chat history bug potentially leaks personal data of 1.2 percent of ChatGPT Plus subscribers. The leaked data includes details such as the user's first and last name, e-mail address, payment address and the last four digits of the credit card number, as well as the expiry date of the credit card. However, the complete credit card numbers were not revealed.
The company corrected the error and clarified
The company identified the flawed library as the Redis client open-source library redis-py, which has since been patched. OpenAI has taken additional steps to prevent such incidents from happening again, including adding redundant checks to library calls, programmatically examining their logs to ensure all messages are sent only to the correct users, and logging to identify when such incidents are occurring. Revise and verify that they are closed. OpenAI has also reached out to affected users to alert them of the issue.
