Nokia won the case against Oppo and OnePlus, cannot sell the phone in this country

Ahmedabad, 12 July 2022, Tuesday
Oppo and One Plus, the giant smartphone companies that rule the Indian market, have been hit hard. The companies lost a case against Nokia and now they can't even sell their phones in Germany. This shocking news has come out after the decision of the case by Nokia.
The court has ruled in favor of Nokia in the patent dispute. After this, smartphones from Oppo and OnePlus have stopped here. Nokia has filed 9 separate cases against Oppo. In today's ruling, Oppo and OnePlus cannot sell 4G and 5G phones in Germany as their patent rights are invalid.
Nokia claimed that Oppo and OnePlus infringed EP 29 81 103 and EP 32 20 562. This is not the first time that Oppo has faced a setback from the court. Earlier Oppo also faced a setback in the EP 17 04 731 patent case. Now the court said that this patent also belongs to the same family in which the decision has been given earlier by the court. In such a situation this decision also goes in favor of Nokia.
The court ruled in favor of Nokia in the EP 731 patent case in mid-June. Oppo was also given a chance to present its case but the company did not accept it and the decision came in favor of Nokia. Nokia argued that the regional court in Mannheim found that Oppo was using and selling Nokia's patented technology illegally without obtaining a license.
The two companies are facing each other in the Global Patent Court from 2021. The main point of disagreement between the two is 5G patents and SEPs. The enforcement patent issue is also in dispute. Nokia has filed a court case against 9 SEPs and five impeachment patents. All the other cases may be decided by the end of July or the beginning of August, but today's ruling has ordered that Oppo and One Plus phones cannot be sold in Germany.
