Until seven years ago , saving our digital photographs and videos was a daunting task. The era of smartphones had begun and digital cameras were being forgotten by people other than professional photographers. But transferring the photo-videos taken from the smartphone camera to the computer , filing them there properly was a very difficult task. It was not even possible for everyone - what if you don't have your own PC ?

Then in May 2015, Google launched a service called ' Google Photos ' and our work became very easy. In fact, Google made its job easier. The company initially gave us unlimited free storage on the service , in exchange for training its computer vision technology on billions of photographs!

Now , this service has been free for a limited time since 2021 , but there is no better option for saving digital photos and videos. Let's talk about some of its features.

Did you know that if you have uploaded your photograph in Google Photos, you can also search for the image using the words in it ?

This convenience has many uses. As most people need a chef or tiffin service from time to time. There are advertisements in newspapers or small shops , but when it is needed, it does not take root! If you take a photograph of it and upload it in Google Photos , then whenever you need a cook or tiffin service in the future, open the Google Photos app , search for the word ' caterer ' or ' tiffin ' in it, then you can easily reach the image taken days ago. . Similarly , if you have taken a photograph of someone's visiting card and uploaded it in Google Photos, you can reach that photograph by searching any of its details.

The only condition is that the image should contain that word!

Earlier this facility was possible in Google Keep service stored images , but now it has been added to Google Photos as well. Google Photos can recognize words in photographs with ' Optical Character Recognition ' technology. It shouldn't come as a surprise to know that this way , we can even reach the Gujarati words appearing in the photograph by searching!

If you have been storing your digital photos in Google Photos for a long time, you must be familiar with the ' Memories ' feature. With this feature, Photos app gives us a fun surprise by bringing back to us photographs from years ago. Sometimes it shows different photos focusing on one person of the family , sometimes it focuses on two people and shows photos with them. On a certain day , a photo from the previous two-five or fifteen years ago can also be seen like this!

But if for some reason you don't want to accidentally see photos of people or periods that hit your heartstrings, such a setting can also be done. Open the Photos app for that. Click on your profile picture in it. In it go to Google Photos settings and in it go to Memories.

Here you can select the option of ' Hide People and Pets ' or ' Hide Dates ' . If we select the ' People and Pets ' option, the faces of all the different people or pets that have been captured in the Photos app will be displayed. We will be able to select the photographs that we do not want to see in the memory. In the same way in dates we can specify a fixed start date and end date so that the photograph between these two dates does not appear in the memory.

You may remember that some time ago in ' Technoworld ' we talked about the fact that Google search has now started using ' chips ' and will gradually appear in all services. That convenience has also come in photos.

We can search the photographs stored in Google Photos in many different ways. Which way is this ' many way ' ? To check it, open the Photos app and click on the search icon shown below. As you can see, the search interface will open and in it we can search photos according to different categories like People , Places , Documents , Things etc.

The thing to consider is that we just upload the photograph in this service , then this service does the job of identifying it automatically. According to the setting, it recognizes the faces of the persons in the photograph , determines which place it belongs to, sunset , park, etc. and takes the photograph accordingly.

The matter does not end here. Searching in Photos is even more powerful. You can also search for your son's or daughter's face in the photos service by writing like Pinky blue cap in the search if it is identified by his name ! Apart from that, different chips are found under our search query. Due to which we can find photographs of different combinations.
