Last week was quite a blast for the tech world! Google was quick to announce its technology to counter the threat posed by Microsoft's artificial intelligence (AI)-based chatbot ChatGPT , the day after Microsoft made it possible to chat with the AI chatbot in its Bing search engine and asked people to join its wishlist (which had a million in just 48 hours). people joined) , then Google's technology was revealed to be a major fiasco, and shares of Google's parent company Alphabet plummeted, as did Adani's...

In all these upheavals, an illusion crept into everyone's mind - now AI is going to rule the world! A major misconception has arisen that the role of AI is limited to search engines. Actually the process of getting answers now is based on two methods - conversational and computational. Communicating, extracting essence from both the data and the conversation , and only based on specific calculations. Both these methods have their respective deposit-borrow aspects. What's more, the role of AI as it appears now , search is not limited enough! We talked about ChatGPT in detail in the January 4th issue , now let's talk further.

Due to artificial intelligence in search engines, the competition between human experience and data-driven artificial intelligence has started. Both Google and Microsoft are adding AI to their search engine technology. But both these companies' search engines were already very data-driven. Human skill had no role in it. On the other hand, there are many services on the Internet , in which the experience , skills , opinions, etc. of the people alive have been important , now AI is starting to gain a foothold in them.

Like ' Quora ' (www.quora.com/) is such a global platform , on which we can ask questions about all topics around the world and people with good experience or expertise in that matter answer them. The service has expanded so much that the answers from real experts on that subject are now behind a paywall , meaning we have to subscribe to Quora's premium service to read those answers.

It means that human intelligence , his skills and experience are important here! Currently, the number of active users of Quora has reached 40 crores.

Until now, it seemed likely that chatbots like Chat GPT would pose a serious challenge to such services , as chatbots have started to provide very fast and fairly accurate responses. But the funny thing is that such services themselves are now taking the lead of AI!

Quora platform has now launched a separate app called ' Poe ' , in which not humans , but various AI chatbots give answers! We can install this app and ask any question and AI chatbots developed by different companies, including OpenAI, the company that developed the popular ChatGPT chatbot, give us answers.

Quora company had launched this mobile app in December 2022 , but then we needed to get an invitation to take advantage of it. Now last week the company has launched this app publicly so anyone can use this AI app. Currently it is only available as an iOS app. But soon Android app and web platform will also be launched.

Currently, the company has launched this app as a separate app from Quora , but when the content in this app is found to be ' according to the company's standards ' , it will be distributed on the Quora site as well.

In Po app we can open an account using our mobile number and email address and then select a chatbot that we find trustworthy and ask it questions. However, the chatbots that the company is currently using are also known to rig responses (as has happened with ChatGPT and Google Bard) . This is why the company is currently keeping this app separate from Quora!

Between Microsoft and Google , there has been a hasty race to add AI to search engines , but some networks are still adopting a ' stop and wait ' policy.

One such well-known example is the stack overflow network. Stack Overflow ( https://stackoverflow.com/) for IT field professionals and novices There is a great community. If people have any problem about programming or other topics, we can ask our question in this community , on which the experts of that subject guide us based on their experience and expertise (If you are an IT student, such a platform is definitely worth taking advantage of. This is also a kind of There is social media , but you will get a very good return on the time you spend on it).

With the launch of ChatGPT service last November, people started asking ChatGPT questions asked in Stack Overflow and pasting their answers in Stack Overflow. Finally the moderators of this community put a temporary ban on him. He said that there is a very high rate of errors in chatbot responses. Even people who are not really experts in the subject get answers from ChatGPT and paste them into Stack Overflow, which actually reduces the credibility of Stack Overflow! This community has therefore banned posting of copy-pasted replies to the chatbot until a new decision is made!

When you see AI answers on Google or Bing, consider this before you believe them to be true! Not everything is true on search engines - not today and not tomorrow!

Some time ago we talked in ' Technoworld ' that a feature called ' Multisearch ' is coming in Google Search. Initially launched only in the US, the feature has now rolled out across the world and most likely made its way to your phone as well.

The multisearch feature as its name suggests allows you to search by multiple factors at once.

It means that we can search using both image and text simultaneously. For example, you have a dress with a pattern you like but you want the same pattern in a different color. Or suppose you have a brown leather office bag , but now you want to buy a similar bag in black, multisearch feature can be useful for you.

To try it out, find something like this in your home and open the smartphone and click on the lens icon in the search app.

Now take a photograph of the item you want in another color. Before this, the result page will open with the prize of office bags of the same color. But we need another color. For that, part of our image will appear in a circle on the top of the result page and ' Add to your search ' will be written next to it with a ' plus ' sign .

We can write any other color , brand name or anything else as written in the search box. So we will see images like the searched office bag but in black color and its prices too!

In this way we can get the result by taking an image of desired dress , watch etc. , adding it with other related options text. For example, if you have an indoor plant in the office or at home, you can take a photo of the plant and search for ' care instructions ' for tips on how to care for it - if you don't know the plant science, fine! As Google says this visual + text search feature is still in the experimental stage so we may not get very satisfactory results. Look like this, now we can easily reach the desired result if we search directly by writing black leather office bag instead of the effort of searching by typing photograph + color. But when it comes to a very specific pattern or design that is difficult to describe in words, this type of multisearch can be more useful.

According to Google , this is made possible by an AI technology called Multitask Unified Model (MUM).

There is a funny saying in our language - as much as there is in the well, let the air come! New age technology is disproving this old and well-known adage. Whether you know a little about photo editing or not , we can understand that if we try to make any photograph larger than its original size, its quality will deteriorate. We know that digital photographs are made up of tiny pixels. We can compare a digital photograph to graph paper. Like graph paper, a digital photograph consists of a number of squares in horizontal rows and vertical columns , called ' pixels ' . When a digital photograph is captured with a camera, a digital image is created with a fixed number of pixels , according to the fixed resolution of the camera. In each pixel, ' RGB ' i.e. red , green , blue color information is added in increasing amounts , creating the entire digital image.

A digital image can be further used as per the fixed resolution in which it was captured. For example, if the image is captured in relatively low resolution i.e. less pixels, it can be printed on postcard size paper. If you go to print on A-4 size paper or larger size, ' pixels are torn ' and the image is blurred or dimly printed. It means that as much as is in the well comes into the air.

But now this adage is being proved wrong. Photoshop, the most powerful photo editing program for years , can make images larger than their original size without any noticeable loss in quality. This new feature in Photoshop is known as ' Super Resolution ' .

Currently those with Adobe's Creative Cloud subscription can take advantage of this feature. This feature can be taken advantage of when we open the image taken from a digital camera in its ' Raw ' format in the Photoshop program. After opening the image, right clicking on it will open a dialog box with ' Enhance ' option. A zoomed preview of our image is seen in that box. If we click and hold the image with the mouse, its original resolution can be seen. Hence we also understand the difference between the two images. After that, when we select the Enhance option, the program starts its work (your computer needs to be powerful).

The Photoshop program uses an artificial intelligence-based platform called ' Sensei ' to determine what additional data is needed to enhance a photograph, i.e. add additional information similar to that contained in each pixel. The Enhance feature adds new pixels equal to the number of pixels in the original photograph in the horizontal and vertical rows. And the data ' sniffed ' from the surrounding pixels is added to the new blank pixels in exactly the same proportion! As a result the photograph becomes much larger than the original and yet its quality is almost unaffected! This difference is visible when we zoom in on the photograph but to the normal eye this difference does not affect much.

You may also know that when we remove a part of an image in Photoshop, the details can be filled in from the surrounding area in place of that part so that the image doesn't look like it has changed at all!
