It is said that before humans, dinosaurs ruled the earth. Even today, the evidence of the existence of these creatures centuries ago is found on the earth. Many dinosaurs were very peaceful, but some dinosaurs were very dangerous.
According to the information, a very large theropod footprint was found in Northern England in the year 2021, after studying which the experts said that it is shocking.
Footprint about 3.3 feet long
Local archaeologist Mary Woods was collecting conch shells on the beach in April 2021. After stumbling upon a dinosaur footprint, he couldn't believe what he saw. After which a team of fossil collectors rescued this footprint.
According to experts, this is the largest footprint ever found in Yorkshire. This footprint is about 3.3 feet long.
Regarding the footprint, researchers say it is a record-breaking dinosaur print found on the Yorkshire coast. This footprint would be when a dinosaur stopped here to rest.
Currently this footprint is said to be 166 million years old. This footprint was found by Rob Taylor and Mary Woods in 2021 on a beach at Burniston Bay. After studying the footprint, the team concluded that it was made by a giant carnivorous dinosaur like Megalosaurus. The footprint will now be housed in the city's Rotunda Museum.
Speaking to the media, Manchester University scientist Dr. Dean Lomax said the "amazing" discovery sheds light on the behavior of the carnivorous giants that once roamed the region's coasts. Looking at the footprints, it looks like it must have been a large predatory dinosaur. After studying the footprints, they will be put on public display.
