Currently, 5G service is available in 1,947 cities in 72 countries. The service is available in 356 cities in China and 296 cities in America. Apart from this, this service is also available in countries like Kenya, Bhutan, Malta, Mauritius, Philippines.

Providing a stand alone service for a 5G network is very expensive. In this service, like the current service, the mobile itself acts as a high-speed receiver and the data comes directly from the tower to the mobile. Non-stand alone services are mostly provided in the world as a lot of investment has to be made in network, tower infrastructure to provide such service. In this, a building or a specific place is equipped with a 5G network and acts as a mobile receiver only within that building or a certain radius.

After the launch, the services will be available in limited cities in India as well and customers are expected to have to wait for the stand alone services.
