Mark Zuckerberg plans to rebrand Facebook by renaming it


New Delhi: Facebook plans to change the name of the company next week, reflecting the fact that the company is focusing on metavars, sources close to the matter said. Zuckerberg is expected to speak at the company's AGM on October 9 about changing the name. Thus the company's ambition is now beyond social media. Due to the rebranding, the Facebook app in the new company will also become an app like its other app products such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Oculus. Thus, Facebook will not remain a company, but a product of a company.

Facebook has more than ten thousand employees making AR glasses used in smartphones. Zuckerberg believes that the whole world has to be addicted to smartphones and that it is growing. Therefore, there is a demand for used AR glasses.

Zuckerberg said in July that in the next few years we will only successfully transform from a social media company to a metavars company. Thus people will not only recognize us as a social media company.

This kind of rebranding will help Zuckerberg differentiate other products from the way Facebook currently operates as a social media platform and is being subjected to intense scrutiny.
