Mark Zuckerberg plans to rebrand Facebook by renaming it


New Delhi: Facebook plans to change the name of the company next week, reflecting the fact that the company is focusing on metavars, sources close to the matter said. Zuckerberg is expected to speak at the company's AGM on October 9 about changing the name. Thus the company's ambition is now beyond social media. Due to the rebranding, the Facebook app in the new company will also become an app like its other app products such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Oculus. Thus, Facebook will not remain a company, but a product of a company.

Facebook has more than ten thousand employees making AR glasses used in smartphones. Zuckerberg believes that the whole world has to be addicted to smartphones and that it is growing. Therefore, there is a demand for used AR glasses.

Zuckerberg said in July that in the next few years we will only successfully transform from a social media company to a metavars company. Thus people will not only recognize us as a social media company.

This kind of rebranding will help Zuckerberg differentiate other products from the way Facebook currently operates as a social media platform and is being subjected to intense scrutiny. Frances Haug, a former employee and whistleblower, recently leaked the company's internal documents to The Wall Street Journal. She also appeared before Congress in the Facebook protest proceedings. Other antitrust regulators in the US and around the world are trying to break the company and its public trust and reduce Facebook's business.

Facebook is not the first well-known tech company to change its name as it expands its ambitions. In 2015, Google also alphabetized its structure as a holding company. Since then, Google has not only become a search engine company. The company is now making everything from driverless cars to healthcare tech. Snapchat also rebranded it as Snap Inc. in 2016. Did. That same year he started calling himself a camera company and also rolled out the first pair of spectacle camera glasses.

The name of the new Facebook company has been kept quite private. Its probable name could be around the horizon. In addition to Zuckerberg's comment, Facebook has gradually begun to focus exclusively on next generation technology. He set up a dedicated Metawars team last summer. He also announced more than ten thousand recruits for him in Europe. Zuckerberg believes the company's next focus will be on metavers. After the mobile internet, now that the internet is connected to everyone, metavars may become very important in the near future.

Facebook has been aggressively promoting the concept of Metawors in recent weeks. However this notion is not yet understood by all. The term was first drafted by sci-fi novelist Neil Stephens. Today it is one of the most controversial companies in the world.
