Did the Spanish flu kill more young people than the elderly 100 years ago?

London, July 23, 2020, Thursday

Corona virus (Covid-12) has created an atmosphere of fear in the world. However, it would be surprising to know that 100 million years ago, the Spanish flu, known as influenza, killed 20 million people. The death toll is no small feat compared to the world's population of around 1.5 billion at the time.

Although the elderly are becoming more and more infected with the corona virus, the average age of death from the Spanish flu epidemic 100 years ago was 60 years, while the elderly became less vulnerable to the virus. It is believed that these elderly people experienced resistance to another form of the flu that spread in 190 AD. The Spanish flu affected one-third of the world's population, including the Americas, Europe, Africa, and various parts of Asia. Schools, theaters and businesses in the cities were paralyzed. There was talk of superstition, warp, thread and cataclysm in the rural areas.

The Spanish flu, which struck 100 years ago, weakened the body's immune system. There was a reaction called psychotin stem which caused water to fill the lungs. The man was helpless against the Spanish flu. There was no prescription drug or vaccine available. Even at that time, people with good immunity survived the flu. Even during this epidemic, the trend of wearing masks increased. In cities like New York in the United States, conductors or sweepers were seen wearing masks while on duty. After two years, the effects of the Spanish flu gradually diminished, but by then hundreds of lives had been lost.

The letters were handed over to the museum in 190 by historian and journalist Richard Collier. In which many people have written that it was a horrible moment in which no one could tell who was no longer in the family. One of the sons of a Leicester pastor wrote that my father slept there after the funeral because the virus did not want his wife and eight children to feel at home. The tomb-digging team worked hard day and night but did not return. Cases of murder and suicide went to the courts as the Spanish flu also posed a psychological threat.
