Along with the cooling of the country's climate, the influence of pollution has also started to increase. Air pollution has already started increasing in the Delhi NCR area, making breathing difficult. It's important to check the air quality before going outside, so you can plan your outdoor activities. For this, Google is bringing a new feature, with the help of which you can see the air quality index of your city in Google Discover.
Google is bringing a new feature
Google is reportedly planning to help users track air quality, which would be a great feature for people living in polluted areas, according to a Google report.
The platform is widely rolling out AQI cards in the Discover tab on both iOS and Android operating systems. Users will soon find this new tab in the Google app, which will be on the left side of the home screen. However, this feature is not yet available on tablets or Pixel Fold.
A new mini card will be available in the Discover feed
Google will add a mini card to the Google Discover feed on mobile devices, which will show real-time air quality updates for a local area. The company has also revamped the Customize menu and replaced the Material U Switch with a checkbox.
These features are available in the Discover tab
Google currently has three mini-cards in the Discover tab – Sports, Weather and Finance. The sports card shows live updates for the teams you follow, the weather card keeps you updated with current weather conditions, and the financial card tracks stock prices and market conditions for the industries you follow.
Now a fourth mini-card Air Quality (AQI) is being added to the Google Discover tab. Mini Tab allows users to quickly and easily check the air quality in their area. Users just have to tap on the AQI mini card to avail the facility. This will start a search for air quality data and display it in the Discover tab.
Currently this feature has appeared in some beta users. The report says that the Google app beta on Android (version 14.32) and iOS has a blank card that searches for air quality when tapped.
