What is ISRO's 'Mission Surya'? Aditya L-1 will unlock the unknown secrets of the Sun, know the complete details of the mission
After the successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 at the Moon's South Pole, the Sun mission Aditya L1 is ready. ISRO announced yesterday that the mission will be launched on September 2 at 11 am from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The distance of the Sun from the Earth is 1.4 million kilometers, which means it is 4 times farther than the Moon. The sun is very hot. This makes it clear that 'Mission Sun' will be more difficult than Mission Moon, for which ISRO will have to do many times more preparations. In such a situation, various questions would have arisen in people's minds regarding things like the size and temperature of the Sun. So let us get the solution of all these questions here.
The main objective of this mission?
Aditya L-1 is India's first solar mission. By launching it, India wants to study the dynamics of the solar atmosphere i.e. chromosphere and corona. Along with this, he also wants to unlock the secrets of the massive release of energy from the corona. Additionally, through Aditya L-1, ISRO intends to gather information on the physics of partially ionized plasma and the dynamics of space weather. At the same time, it intends to study large-scale bursts of plasma and magnetic fields from the solar atmosphere.
How long will it take?
Aditya L-1 will reveal the secrets of the Sun located about 1.5 million kilometers away. It will take four months to reach Langres Point ie L-1. Aditya L-1 will be placed into orbit near Langres Point. The Langres point refers to a point in space where a field of attraction and repulsion is created due to the gravitational force of two space bodies such as the Sun and the Earth. It is named after the Italo-French mathematician Joseph-Louis Langrange.
How many payloads will this mission have?
Aditya L-1 will reach its destination with seven payloads. Through these payloads, ISRO will help study the photosphere, chromosphere i.e. the surface just above the visible surface of the Sun and the corona (the outermost layer of the Sun).
Isro has given the registration link to watch the launch
Seeing the public's enthusiasm for India's first solar mission, Aditya L-1, ISRO has released a link. People can apply through this link https://lvg.shar.gov.in/VSCRegistration/index.jsp and view the launch from launch view gallery of Sriharikota. According to ISRO, the registration will be started soon.
Budget of Aditya L-1?
The budget of the Aditya L-1 mission is around Rs 400 crore. The production of Aditya L-1 started from December 2019.
Difference between Chandrayaan and Aditya L-1 mission
Chandrayaan-3 was launched from Space Center Sriharikota via LVM-3 on July 14 at 2:35 pm. It landed on the lunar surface on August 23 at 6.04 pm. With this, India has become the fourth country to soft land on the moon. With this, India has registered another big achievement. India has become the first country in the world to make a soft landing on the South Pole of the Moon. While Chandrayaan-3 will reveal the secrets of the Moon, Aditya L-1 will reveal the secrets of the Sun to the world. The secrets of the sun will be revealed, of which the world is still ignorant.
