Meta's request for action on 91,000 accounts from India, the company informed

Social media giant Meta (Facebook) received the highest number of 55,500 requests for action against around 91,000 users and accounts from India during January-June, 2022. The US-based company gave this information in its monthly 'Transparency' report on Wednesday.

According to the report, the US tops the list with 69,363 requests for action on over 1.26 lakh social media accounts, while India ranks second. According to data shared by Meta, total requests from India have grown by 22 percent year-on-year. The report said it compiled some statistics for 66.59 percent of the requests. Meta also received requests from India to maintain about 12,800 accounts. Meta publishes a transparency report every month. This report contains details of complaints received and action taken on them.
