IMC 2022: PM Modi launched 5G service, took experience himself in the demo zone

- 5G services have started in 13 cities in the first phase and will be expanded soon

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India Mobile Congress (IMC 2022) at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. It is the sixth edition of India Mobile Congress and will continue till October 4. Along with Prime Minister Modi, Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Union Communications Minister Devusinh Chauhan, Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani were present on this occasion.
After that, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the 5G network service. At that time, Reliance Jio Chairman Akash Ambani informed him about the 5G service. Reliance Industries Limited announced that 5G services will be rolled out in metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata by Diwali in the country. While by December 2023, 5G service will be available in every state of the country.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister inspected the exhibition at Pragati Maidan. 5G telecom services will provide seamless coverage, high data rates. The 3 largest telecom operators of the country also presented one use case each to the Prime Minister to demonstrate the potential of 5G technology in India.
He visited the stalls of Airtel, Jio and Vi companies and took a demo of the new technology. He learned about the benefits of 5G in the medical sector and got a demo of how the defense and agriculture sectors will change after 5G.
The Prime Minister got hands-on experience wearing 'Jio Glass' and a team of young Jio engineers briefed him on the indigenous development of end-to-end 5G technology.

Starting today in 13 cities
5G services have started in 13 cities in the first phase and will be expanded soon. These 13 cities include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Delhi and Mumbai.
Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani said that Jio will be the first to launch 5G in the country. By 2023, this technology will reach the streets of the country. Along with this, Ambani said that the cost of 5G will be affordable and even common people will be able to use it. From today Airtel's 5G network will start in 8 major cities of the country like Delhi, Bengaluru.
