Appstore of India.

Android dominates the smartphone market in India and for years it has been ruled by a single company's app store - the Google Play Store. Google has taken full advantage of this monopoly position and gets a handsome commission from app developers , the burden of which ultimately falls on the backs of users who purchase digital content from the app.

Attempts were being made to replace it for a long time. Some time ago the Government of India tried to develop Appstore itself , which proved to be very poor.

But now Google Play Store seems to get a strong competitor in India. Walmart-owned PhonePe has finally launched an appstore designed for Indian users. This appstore was launched for developers in October last year.

Currently you https://www.indusappstore.com/ You can download the app from this appstore by going to the website. According to Android's system , if an app is downloaded and installed from any source other than Google Play Store, a notification will be displayed saying ' There is a risk and we are installing it with caution ' . By saying yes to it we will be able to install this appstore in the phone.

App developers will be able to launch their apps on Phonepay's Indus Appstore initially without any charge , and if we as a user download any app from the Indus Appstore, there will be no Appstore commission on the purchase. An app developer can use any payment gateway in their app (the user charges only 2 to 3 percent).

Compared to Google's Playstore, Indus Appstore will be different in another way. On it as a user we will be able to login only with a mobile number (it is mandatory to have an email address in Google Playstore). Apart from English, the Phone Pano Appstore will also support 12 Indian languages including Gujarati.
