WhatsApp is now working on a new feature, after which the status can be updated from the web version of WhatsApp as well.

WhatsApp has started testing this new feature on the beta version. Users who are already beta users will be able to see this feature on their app and web. This feature is a part of WhatsApp's companion mode. Which gives users the option of logging into the same account on four different devices. In this mode the primary phone does not need to be connected to the internet.

This new feature of WhatsApp has been spotted on beta version 2.2353.59 of WhatsApp Web. Information about this new feature has been given by WABetaInfo. The new feature will work on all four devices where you have logged in your primary account.

After the new update, WhatsApp users will be able to update their status from their laptop or computer. The new feature can be seen on beta version 2.24.1.4 of Android. It is worth mentioning that currently WhatsApp status can be updated only on primary devices and mobiles.
