Scientists are trying to find out if volcanoes erupt on other planets too. These concerned scientists have come to know of recent volcanic activity on Earth's neighboring planet Mars. This information can be obtained using radar and satellite imagery.

In which scientists saw signs of volcanic activity on Mars. Scientists have expressed hope that this volcanic activity may have happened recently. Great attention was paid to the detail of the lava surfaces to resolve the different volcanic eruption events.

Identification of volcanic activities

According to a report, Elysium Planitia is the newest volcanic area on the planet and studying it helps us better understand the past as well as the present hydrological and volcanic history of Mars. Some of the volcanic activity that has been identified dates back only 1 million years. Scientists still haven't actually seen any volcanic activity in geological terms.
