Chandrayaan 3 : Dawn will fall again at Shiva-Shakti point, will Vikram and Pragyan wake up again?

Sun rays will start reaching the landing spot of Chandrayaan-3 i.e. Shiv-Shakti point today, i.e. it is now morning at this point. Which will last for next 14-15 days. If the solar panels of Vikram lander and Pragyan rover become active in the next two days, then they will be put to work again.

Morning will fall at Shiva-Shakti point

The Shiva-Shakti point, which is 600 km from the south pole of the moon, is to be ascended and it will not be a short ascendant, but a ascendant that will last for 14-15 days. Which is a hopeful dawn. Chandrayaan-3's Vikram lander and Pragyan rover will come out of sleeping mode if the sun's rays fall properly.

Currently Vikram Lander's receiver is on and other machines are off. The same is true in Pragyan Rovar. On September 22, ISRO scientists will again try to make contact with the Vikram lander. By then the battery in the lander will be charged. And then it will be active.

The Vikram lander has been in sleeping mode since September 4. All of its payloads have been disabled except for one receiver. All the data till then has been received by Bangalore based ISTRAC. It has been found that the location of the lander has changed.

All payloads are verified before sleeping mode

All of the Vikram lander's payloads were tested at this new location before turning on its sleeping mode. Only then was the lander commanded to sleep mode. Only the receiver was kept on so that commands could be given from Bangalore.

What happens when the sun shines?

The lander and rover are equipped with solar panels. So that it can be charged by sunlight and can be used again. Chances are that it will be active again to work for 14-15 days after receiving sunlight. But it is not easy to reactivate after seeing temperatures down to minus 250 Celsius.

The Sun rises after 14-15 days on the Moon. And for so many days it sets. So there is sunlight for 14-15 days. The Moon also revolves around the Earth while rotating on its axis. One part of the eight is exposed to the sun, while the other part is not exposed to the sun.

What will the four payloads do on the Vikram lander?

1. Rambha (RAMBHA)- This will investigate the density of the solar plasma particle coming to the lunar surface, only and the changes in it.

2. ChaSTE – which will investigate the surface temperature of the Moon.

3.ILSA (ILSA)- This will investigate earthquakes around the landing seat.

4. Laser Retroreflector Array (LRA) – This will try to understand the dynamics of the Moon.

Pragyan's sleeping mode

Chandrayaan landed near the South Pole of the Moon on the evening of August 23, 2023. At that time the sun was rising there. It was planned by ISRO that there would be sunlight for 14-15 days from the time of Chandrayaan Lane. According to which Chandrayaan was working.

What payloads of wisdom will work?

1. Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscope (LIBS) – This will study element composition. Like magnesium, aluminium, silicon, potassium, tin etc.

2. Alpha Particles X-ray Spectrometer (APXS) - This will study the quantity and quality of chemical compounds on the lunar surface. Besides this will search for minerals.
