Official launch date and time of India's Surya mission announced, Aditya-L1 will travel 15 lakh km


After the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3, the history maker ISRO has now started preparing to step towards a new milestone. ISRO has announced that it will launch the Aditya-L1 mission on September 2. It will be launched from Sriharikota at 11.50 am. Common citizens can also register to watch the launch. Isro has also released a registration link on its website to sit in the view gallery and watch the launch. This will be the first Indian space mission to be sent by ISRO to study the Sun.

Main objective of Aditya L1 mission

The mission will study weather dynamics, the temperature of the Sun, the effect of ultraviolet rays on Earth and the ozone layer. Scientists believe that the accuracy of weather forecasting will also increase by studying the sun. This will help in creating a system through which information about storms can be obtained immediately and alerts can be issued. The Solar Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (SUIT), the core instrument for the Aditya L1 mission, has been developed by the Pune-based Inter-University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA).
